Yesterday evening, my newly-written fantasy novel scored third place in a contest at the Ozarks writing conference. Everyone in our group who submitted work won at least one award, but one of our members won seven contests, five of which were first place! Make sure you check out Season of Crows by Prix Gautney!

Ozarks Creative Writers Conference

Thursday, Friday, and Saturday I went down to Arkansas for a writers conference. I paid $20 for a table and sold 4 games and a 10 Game-Mandments poster. I made back all the money spent on the table plus $17 more. Then I won 2nd Honorable Mention for my Humorous Short Story contest submission. Pretty successful for Sanctum-Games' first ever live event.

Percy opens the door to Noa's room. The interior is utterly silent, and no other people or robots are around. The lights are off. Rather than flip them on, he shines a flashlight around the cube-shaped space, stopping the beam on the only object in the room, a human-length table near the wall. And Noa.
"There. Perfect."
He is holding a suit and low-rimmed hat in his hands. He walks over to Noa, currently asleep on the table, and wakes her up.
Percy opens the door to Noa's room. The interior is utterly silent, and no other people or robots are around. The lights are off. NOA was huge, at least 6'5 or a little over. But before Percy could wake her, a guard came by. "Hey what are you doing?"
The gaurd shined his light as Percy, but there was no cause for alarm. He knew Percy was a scientist so there was no need to panic. The guard was just a 'mall cop' ranking squad member and didnt know much. He also didnt know Percy was not supposed to be up.
So all Percy had to do was shoo away the Japanese guard before NOA activated.

As if on cue, the mechanical eyes flashed to life. Noa sat up straight on the table, looked around the room, right, then left. Her vision pierced the dark room far better than any flashlight could ever hope to.
Before Noa could speak and potentially blow his cover, Percy put a finger to his lips and pushed the clothes into her hands. "Put these on, and be quick about it. We're leaving, right now."
